Friday Flick Fest: Dragons and Hot Tubs

There are two new releases today, which are Hot Tub Time Machne and How To Train Your Dragon. As far as I can tell, both movies are being pretty well received, with How To Train Your Dragon earning a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. If you're going to see How To Train Your Dragon in 3D, I would highly suggest watching it either this weekend or sometime before next friday, because next week Clash Of The Titans opens in 3D, and between that and Alice, it won't have many 3D showtimes. Slash Film has a great article about How To Train Your Dragon and they claim the 3D trumps Avatar in every way, so I would highly suggest you go see it in 3D. It's a shame Shrek Forever After and Megamind don't look like they'll be following in the quality footsteps of Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon, but Dragons was directed by the former Disney director Chris Sanders, who directed Lilo and Stitch.

Another thing to remember is Regal, Cinemark, and AMC theaters have both raised their ticket prices this weekend, mainly for 3D tickets. It's completely ridiculous and hopefully ticket sales start to slump and theater owners see their mistake before they alienate theater goers too much.
